Episode 5 of Shortfom is up. Come one and all, and hear tales of how I am gaining a deeper understanding of the performance aspects of Improv/Acting and how I didn’t prepare properly for any of it.

Calls is a blog post where I recall how we used pick up the phone and call each other, in the old days.
Using a minimal iPhone. I’m distracted easily, and this setup helps me focus.
Yesterday, a coworker who deals with a lot of event management type work asked me for some advice. He was looking to automate the setup of reminders and logistic for events. I mentioned using Shortcuts on his iPhone to automate the process. He had tinkered with Shortcuts before, but just a little. I showed him how to branch (if/then), variables and “date math”. He said he’d give it a look last night. Just saw him at the watercooler, and he’s got a full system in place now.
I really enjoy teaching people how to make technology suit their needs.

Unoverwhelmed is a short post on how I trying to better manage it all with a pen and notebook.
I’m about 24 hours into Dark Mode in Mojave. I’m on the fence. Time of day and task-at-hand make me want to flip back and forth. Also, I’ve been using HazeOver a lot and I think I prefer making everything except the front window/app very dark.
Listening to @Miraz on @monday interesting point about the weight of domains that you aren’t using anymore. I’ve let 3 domains expire this year myself. I’m too quick to have an idea, then grab the domain name, then try to implement the idea. Ideas are easy, execution is hard.
I’ve been sucked into The Bodyguard on Netflix. Could be because of the Red Wedding, and Richard Madden seems too nice of a guy to deserve that crap from Walder Frey. But I might be mixing genres.

Halloween - one of my favorite holidays. We got a late start on decorating and pumpkin carving this year. However I think we’re in good shape. Looking forward to seeing all the ghosts and ghouls tonight 🎃 👻
Happy Halloween!
Voting is important. Here is a nice site that helps you understand the options you have.

Episode 4 of “Shortform” my short podcast about learning and practicing short form improv comedy is up.
“It was amazing to perform like this, and I think I’m starting to really understand the acting bits of long form improv.”
Happy Halloween?!!???
I’ve been working for 20+ years and still sometimes have problems “leaving it at the office”. Something I’m working on, and most days it works. Today was a friggin doozey, though. A nice dinner with my family helped. Looking forward to a glass of wine and 🏒
Happy St. Plipingston day!

Nothing like meeting up with a creative friend who you haven’t seen in a while. Energized and excited for all the creative ideas in our lives. Especially the ones that overlap :)
I’m planning a few new series or batches of posts to my blog. hashtag incubating. Any thoughts or suggestions for the list below?
I’ve been taking an Improv level 101 course. I’ve really been bitten by the bug, and have enjoyed it so much. So much so that I’ve decided to chronicle my learning and practice with a new microcast called Shortform. Feedback appreciated!
Looking for some Siri shortcuts info. Is there a way to ask for input with a predetermined set of options? Something like asking the user (me) what do you want to listen to? And the options are podcasts, audiobooks or music. Each option would launch the respective app. Ideally the three options are presented as buttons and the user just taps one.
